Discover
The Legacy Show: Where Art Lives On
September 18
5:00-7:00 pm
Legacy Show will continue through the festival at 1216 Washington Street.
In the heart of Washington Street, the H.C. Porter Gallery opens its doors to a powerful celebration of Vicksburg’s creative soul. The Legacy Show honors the remarkable artists who once walked our streets, shared our sunsets, and poured their vision into canvases and creations that still speak today. Each piece on display is more than art—it’s a memory, a voice, a moment in time preserved.
The families of these artists, moved by the love and respect their work continues to inspire, have generously contributed to the prize fund, turning this tribute into a gift for the next generation of creators. As you wander the gallery, you’re not just seeing art—you’re meeting the spirit of Vicksburg’s past, standing alongside those who helped shape its identity. Come remember, reflect, and be inspired by the legacy they’ve left behind.
Artists featured: Virginia "Peaches" Andrews, Andrew Bucci, Elizabeth "Betty" Bullard, Jane Fisher Campbell, Caroline Russell Compton, Jann Terrel Ferris, Shelby Ferris, Hobbs Freeman, Kennith Humphrey, Marian Meeks Ingram, Ann Biedenharn Jones, Elizabeth Pajerski and William Tolliver.
